HUBER Technology will be exhibiting and speaking at this year’s European Biosolids & Bioresources conference taking place in Newcastle on “The importance of trials when looking at permanent sludge dewatering solutions for a relatively uncommon sludge type.

Come along and listen to Dale Foster, HUBER’s Area Manager, where he will be co-presenting with Jason Sims, HUBER’s Process Development Manager on the importance of trials for permanent sludge dewatering solutions.

The presentation will look at and cover the importance of trials when looking to dewater sludge from a reasonably uncommon process (Kaldnes), which was thought to be 'tricky' to deal with by site operators. Undertaking trials enabled various sludge blends and types to be tested so the end user could determine the most cost effective solution to reduce the significant cost of transporting only thickened sludge from site. These were: Pre-thickened Kaldnes & SAS, Raw SAS, Raw Kaldnes and 50:50 raw Kaldnes & SAS.

Through sampling and subsequent analysis, with the results generated we were able to provide the end user with high level costed sludge dewatering solution comparisons to enable them to make the best and most informed decision relative to a permanent solution. The importance of carrying out trials was highlighted on this project and if trials had not taken place we would have been unable to commit to process parameters and utility/chemical usage and the end user would have been uncertain what might be achieved using the HUBER Q-PRESS® screw press sludge dewatering technology. The end user found it a very beneficial benchmarking exercise.
