Project Profiles

We have recently completed a number of projects to improve the sewage treatment processes at holiday parks, caravan sites and hotels.

These projects typically involve the improvement of the upstream screening solutions prior to further treatment by the onsite sewage treatment works.

Wet wipes, sanitary products and other items flushed into the sewer network often cause problems with repeated pump and screen failures leading to significant costs and failures in the process which can lead to significant fines from the environment agency.

HUBER Technology’s range of small inlet screens are an ideal solution to prevent these types of incidents occurring, all of the types of screens have very low power and water consumption and installed in a variety of ways including installation into a channel, into a purpose designed tank or even directly into the pumping station.

HUBER Micro Strainer ROTAMAT® Ro9 channel mounted screen installed into a static and touring caravan park.

The site featured 625 static caravan and lodge pitches and a further 110 touring pitches. The screen was designed to treat the flow from the pitches and toilet blocks to remove all solids greater than 6mm before washing the organic matter back into the flow and then compacting the solids prior to discharge into a bagging unit and wheelie bin.

HUBER Pumping Stations Screen ROTAMAT® RoK4 screen installed at a 200 bedroom hotel.

The screen was directly installed into the pumping station to prevent pump blockages and problems with downstream processes. It was designed to treat the flow from the hotel rooms and kitchens to remove all solids greater than 6mm before washing the organic matter back into the flow and then compacting the solids prior to discharge into a bagging unit and wheelie bin.

“From all of the installations of these types of screens on small treatment plants at these types of facilities an immediate improvement to the downstream process is seen as well a reduction in operational costs by removal of the solids which typically cause the problems with the process.”
