HUBER Technology are pleased to be able to offer the HUBER Sludge Thickener S-DISC 1 as three different solutions:
- The standard S-DISC solution
- The DfMA Skid mounted S-DISC solution
- The Containerised S-DISC solution
The three solutions allows HUBER to offer customers turnkey solutions for their sludge thickening equipment and standardisation between sites. The fully integrated design allows us to pre-configure the equipment at our Chippenham head office workshop before delivering to site, which keeps installation costs down while guaranteeing build quality remains high.
The design for the S-DISC skid / containerised unit is based around a standard design skid, to this the pumps, poly-dosing, mixing, thickening and control system are mounted. The skid and equipment are pre-assembled, pre-wired and fully tested prior to delivery. For the containerised unit we add the following to the standard skid specifications:
- All service inputs / outputs located on outside of container
- Main personnel access door for day to day operation
- Lighting, heating and integrated ventilation
- Opening doors at both ends and a pair of bi folding doors on one side for maintenance access
- Distribution board for power supply
When the S-DISC assembly is delivered to site, the client just connects to the pre-installed pipe work and connects the power supply.
Key Benefits of the DfMA skid and containerised solutions are:
- Thickener, flocculation reactor, thin & thickened sludge pumps, polymer make up & dosing and control systems all on one skid
- Skid pre-assembled, pre-wired and tested prior to delivery
- Reduced installation time and cost when compared to conventional installations
- Reduces H&S risk on site
- Results in smaller carbon footprint
- Reduced commissioning and optimisation time on site
- A standard solution which can be repeated on other sites
Key Benefits of the S-DISC – Performance & Efficiency
- Up to 40m3/h input volume
- Up to 40% lower capital cost
- 25% lower operating costs than equivalent drum and gravity belt thickeners
- Typical thickening results > 6 % DR
- Lower polymer consumption
- Robust design for high solids loads and coarse material containing sludge
- Operator attendance of less than 10 mins per day
- Half the water demand compared to drums and 5% of gravity belt thickeners
- Filtrate can be used as wash water
- Typical separation efficiency <97%
We support our customers on new sludge thickening plants and are keen to be involved in the early stages of planning a plant to ensure all areas of the process are considered. We have a trial containerised S-DISC sludge thickening package available and help with onsite trial / development work can be undertaken.
