  • Function

The waste water flows down the sewer into the pump well. This pipe duct is extended into the well chamber and is designed with a screening area.

The liquid phase passes through the wedge section screening area into the pump well, from where it is pumped away to a new higher level.

The screenings material removed is transported along the axis of the screen by a horizontal helical screw. This screw is fitted with brushes on the leading edge of the flights, which continuously clean the screening area. The screenings are then picked up by a vertical transporting screw, which lifts the screenings upwards to a discharge point above, whilst taking up very little area and saving space.

The screenings can be discharged into a container for a completely enclosed odour free operation.

If the screen suffers a power failure a piped by pass duct is provided to prevent backing up of the incoming sewer, and waste water is discharged directly into the pump sump.
