  • Function

The Pipestrainer offers fine screening for small municipal and industrial wastewater flows up to 5 l/s (20 m³/h). The small space demand for the mechanical equipment and the special conception for installation into pipelines allows wastewater screening at source.

The Pipestrainer is a horizontal pipe-shaped fine material separator consisting of a screening zone and a discharge section with pressure cone and pressure cone adjusting system. The screening zone consists of a screw that rotates inside a screen basket and transports the solids retained on the screen surface up to the screenings discharge. The wastewater to be treated flows through the screen surface from inside to outside and is then discharged vertically downwards through an outlet pipe connection. The screen basket can be equipped with different filter elements and thus adapted to specific requirements. The screen surface is cleaned mechanically by brushes fitted to the screw. Backwashing with water is not required. The screenings dewatering degree is determined by the spring force adjusted at the pressure cone, i.e. it depends on the pre-load on the spring how wide the annular discharge gap will open. The Pipestrainer can easily be integrated in a pipeline system and automatic operation system.
