From a sludge silo or directly from the digestor the sludge is transported into the flocculation reactor by means of the sludge pump.
The coagulant required is continuously prepared in a fully-automatic coagulant preparation plant and added to the sludge. A statik mixer in the sludge pipe guarantees an intensive mixing
In the flocculation reactor a vertical wedge wire is integrated, so that only by the hydro-static pressure a pre-dewatering takes plage.
In the sludge press the pre-dewatered sludge is continuously dewatered by the increase in pressure. By continuous circulation of the sludge high filtrate resistance is avoided and thus a higher dewatering capacity can be achieved at small pressure. The return of a partial filtrate flow guarantees an optimum quality of the filtrate.
