Submersible pumps deliver the wastewater from the customer's inlet sump into the inlet of the wall. After discharge from the filtration chamber via MiniCop Mini Complete Plant or any other suitable preliminary screen, for separation of coarse constituents and grit sedimentation. The separated compacted screenings have to be disposed of together with the produced grit.

The pre-treated wastewater is passed on into the biological part of the BioMem® plant. In this bioreactor, the water is biologically clarified and finally delivered into the filtration chamber by a submersible pump. Recirculation is enabled by openings in the partition wall. After discharge from the filtration chamber via membranes, the biologically clarified wastewater is discharged into the recipient or passed on to further treatment.

The electric measuring and automatic control system is designed to provide automatic plant operation without the need for operator attention. Removal of excess sludge can be automated by installation of a solids measuring probe, prior to additional mechanical treatment in an optional HUBER Sludge Thickening or Dewatering Plant.

The HUBER BioMem® system is suitable for many applications:
    • Treatment of wastewater of small municipalities, residential areas or housing estates
    • Hotel wastewater treatment plants
    • Towns without sewer systems – wastewater treatment for individual districts
    • Decentralized circulation of water and nutrients (DeSa/R®, EcoSan)
    • Numerous applications for various filtration purposes
    • Separate grey and black water treatment, if requested
    • Special applications
