Well proven screening technology for coarse material removal:
- Easy to retrofit into existing channels
- No submerged moving parts
- Applicable for very high flow rates

|
The CLIMBMAX consists of a stationary bar rack dowelled onto the channel bottom at an angle of 75°. The bar rack consists of individual flat bars that are cleaned by a rake, if necessary.
Screenings are transported upwards along the apron which comes after the bar rack. A hinged wiper pushes the screenings from the rake shelf over the discharge chute into a skip or conveyor.
- Rest position
In rest position the cleaner carriage with rake is situated in the upper area of the pin rack track. This position is pre-defined by a limit switch.
- Downward travel
Upon receipt of the starting signal via level control the cleaner carriage starts travelling towards the channel bottom. Upon motor start both cogwheels on the pin racks start rolling downwards, setting the cleaner carriage into a linear and regular motion.
- Meshing of rake into bar rack
Design of the guiding tracks is such that the cleaner carriage cogwheel practically runs around the lowest bolt (sleeve) of the pin rack and initiates the cleaner carriage to change from travelling downwards to climbing upwards. At this same time the rake meshes into the bar rack and starts with the cleaning process. This is achieved by a change of position of the lever of motor shaft and follower roller.
- Screenings removal, transport and discharge
As the rake climbs upwards the screenings are transported at first along the rake itself and then along the apron. A wiper mounted in the discharge area pushes the screenings from the rake over the discharge chute into a skip or conveyor.
- Returning into rest position
After screenings removal the cleaner carriage returns to the upper turning point where the carriage is reversed from upward into downward movement in the same way as described above for the lower turning point.
The screen is equipped with a motor with brake which causes the cleaner carriage to remain in this position.
- Overload safety device
The screen is equipped with an overload safety device. The rake is spring-loaded. If there appears any obstacle as the rake is meshing into the bar rack, the springs are pressed together, which is detected and evaluated by a second proximity switch that switches the screen off.
- Control philosophy
At automatic mode the screen is controlled via differential level control system.
At hand mode the forward movement of cleaner carriage is controlled via stop button, the reverse movement of cleaner carriage is controlled via inching operation.
