  • Function

The ROTAMAT Wedge Section Screen is installed into the channel and/or the container with an inclination of 35°. The waste water gets to the wedge wire drum via the open front side and flows through the wedge wire. Depending on the bar spacing, the floating, settling and suspended material can be separated. By blocking the screen area an additional screening effect can be reached which exceeds the existing bar spacing noticeably. The special shape of the wedge wire (see sketch) ensures that the screenings stick to the drum and reduces the danger of a clogged screen area as far as possible. The machine starts working if due to the screen area blockage a certain water level is reached in front of the plant. By means of the rotating wedge wire drum the screenings are removed. With the help of a scraper brush and a spray bar the screenings are thrown into a storage hopper which is centrically arranged in the drum. The screw conveyor in the hopper which is fixedly linked to the drum transports the screenings discharged to the closed rising pipe. By means of the integrated screenings washing in this step the soluble components are washed out of the screen and returned to the waste water stream. In this step the integrated screenings washing enables the soluble components to be washed out of the screen and to be returned to the waste water stream. The conveying screw transports, dehydrates and compacts the screenings without any odour annoyance and throws them into the provided container. The discharged screenings have a solids content of up to 40 % DR.

    The integrated screenings washing IRGA:

In order to optimize the treatment process, the integrated screenings washing contributes to an improvement of the carbon - nitrogen ratio. Furthermore it helps saving costs in a decisive way.

By means of the ROTAMAT principle it is possible to integrate the screenings washing directly into the hopper and/or the lower part of the rising pipe. Here the soluble components are separated by the inertance material. Thereby the faeces are almost completely washed out and a considerable reduction in weight can be reached.

    • best quality for low price
    • optional equipment can be fitted without problems
    • minimum disposal costs
    • improved conditions concerning operation and hygiene
    • almost complete washing out of faeces
    • reduction in weight by about 50 %
